Compagnie Marie Chouinard (Canada)

Sexuality is a dominant theme in the work of choreographer Marie Chouinard, and she doesn't mind being provocative. That has theatre audiences treat her like a hero, or as a restless exhibitionist.

She has a talent for plastic portraits of the human body, to say the least. Often her dancers are almost naked, painted or decorated with horns. 'Avantgarde queen' and 'Canada's wildwoman of modern dance' are qualifications hear about the controversial choreographer Marie Chouinard.

Sets can vary from a catwalk into the house or a multicoloured living room to a bare stage; the lighting is always demanding.
