Kobalt Works (Germany) - COKE

For COKE Renz went to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, where he dove into the dancing studio with seven Philippine dancers, actors and entertainers, such as a drag queen, a macho dancer and some members of the famous girls group the Sexbomb Girls. In the performance they show how dance and entertainment have penetrated life in Manila: on TV, bars and clubs, on the stage. Everyone who is a little loose in the hips seeks refuge in the entertainment industry. Renz and his performers show the two sides of it: dance keeps a lot of Manillians alive, but it also induces the public to escape- and consumption-behavior.
