Casus (Australia) - Knee Deep
Casus does not do glamor. The three men and their female colleague ‘do their thing’ and that's it . Now what they do, even without glitter costumes or show other attributes, is enough to look at with open mouth. For example, because they succeed in "walking on eggshells", but really . Step by step they shuffle a box of free-range eggs. And that those things can really break, becomes clear later in the show. As would the four performers if they were not perfectly timing their ground and aerial acrobatics (ever seen a human trapeze?).
Something like that is obviously not easy. That can be seen observing their vibrating muscles, the flowing sweat and concentration on their faces - even during stunts no plastic smiles from the Aussies. It is not only for that reason that the group only two years ago, was given five stars by the British Guardian. "Many circus shows build to wow! moments, but in this piece you stop to expect triumphant drum rolls quickly because in this show, every minute counts."
