dUMMY (Germany) - Varieté 2.0

The name of the company refers to the dummies used in crash tests for cars, where they take our place and pop through the windshield, bruising head, body and limbs. With a little imagination you could see those stiff, plastic figures as our protectors. In the show they act primarily as “undermen" in acrobatic numbers: head, shoulders and hands are focal points for the acrobats. But this obviously doesn’t make dUMMY 'Cabaret 2.0' like Pabst and creator Eike von Stuckenbrok (good name!) call it.

Varieté 2.0, with eight performers, is a combination of live projection, electronic music, romantic vocals, cello and acrobatics, laced with subtle humor movement. The occurrence of Von Stuckenbrok and a colleague on the Chinese pole is praised in the reviews: "They move in the air with the lightness of a ballerina on the floor, sometimes fast, now and then slowed down and then clamped again with only one flexed foot." Not just beautiful so, but also exciting!
