Akram Khan Company (United Kingdom) - Vertical Road
Vertical Road was inspired by stories and myths about angels. The 'vertical road' symbolises the road from the earth to the spiritual world. Khan uses the different cultural background of his dancers, and their ideas about life after death.
Whether this is Khans best work ever, or his worst - judge for yourself!
Flour, kabuki drops, clay and water make it sound a technical nightmare, but all of it comes in small amounts.
