Dorothée Munyaneza / Cie Kadidi (Rwanda)
When the Rwandan genocide erupted in 1994 (800,000 victims), Dorothée Munyaneza was twelve years old. She managed to escape and fled to Britain. After leaving art school she settled in Marseille, where she leads a multifaceted life as a dancer, choreographer, actress and singer. Her own performances are about her homeland. She usually takes to the stage herself - she is a born performer - and tells the stories we might not want to hear, from people who would otherwise not get their say.
