Olga Pericet & Compañía (Spain)
Dancer and choreographer Olga Pericet (Córdoba, 1975) was educated in danza española and flamenco in her hometown. After that, she went to Seville and Madrid, where she studied with among others Manolo Marín, Matilde Coraland Milagros Mengíbar. She is a versatile flamenco dancer, who makes trips to contemporary and classical dance.
Olga Pericet is part of a new generation of dancers / choreographers who are looking for a contemporary flamenco language. Like no other young dancer she knows to speak her 'bata de cola. The long trail makes its comeback, thanks to innovators like Pericet, who therewith a phenomenal dramatic expressiveness to the tradition grants. With equal eloquence Pericet uses the 'Manton', the ornate shawl, which dusted her hands and gets a whole new flair.
