Jo Strømgren Kompani (Norway) - A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football
For his elegant style of movement Johan Cruijff was often compared with a ballet dancer. But what does it look like if a dancer tries to be a football player? Suprisingly realistic, so the show by the Norwegian Jo Strømgren proves. The macho, the runner, the purist: they are all there, plus of course all the typical football gestures and emotions. Very hilarious.
The Jo Strømgren people do a lot of touring, but A Dance Tribute in 2011 was their first Dutch tour. The show attacted a mixed audience: boys in football shirts, texting adolescents and dance lovers sit side by side. Once you've seen the show you'll never forget the first and the last scene.
