In the duet We’re pretty fuckin’ far from okay, Lisbeth Gruwez (Belgium, 1977) analyses our fear reflexes and in particular what fear does to our breathing. We all know fear as an oppressive, unpleasant experience which has a direct effect on our breathing. The breath gasps, the heart begins to pound, we sweat and tremble. Fear is the human body in its most instinctive behaviour. Our body prepares itself: flight or fight?
