On Saturday 13 March 2021, a year after theaters worldwide closed their doors due to corona, many Dutch theaters will participate in the international theater experience White Rabbit Red Rabbit. The performance can be seen via live streams.
Without preparation, without rehearsals, without a director and with a pile of instructions, these actors step onto the stage. With the stack of described sheets in hand, the actor, completely unprepared, begins a first reading that is immediately the definitive performance.
While reading and playing, together with the audience, they discover the content of the international theater hit White Rabbit Red Rabbit by the Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour. This play has been translated into more than 25 languages, including Dutch, since its premiere ten years ago and has been performed thousands of times. And always by different actors. Because whoever has played it once knows the piece and is not allowed to play it again.
