Israel Galván (Spain)
"Israel Galván doesnt dance flamenco, he discovers her again," wrote a critical. The dancer and choreographer from Seville (1973) is a born flamenco dancer. Literally. He received his first lessons from his father José and Mario Maya. But the young Galván knew early that he had to go another way. He dances on the cutting edge. He opens the traditional movements, changes the rhythms and freezes its positions in the most unexpected moments. Headstrong and obstinate, but with feet firmly rooted in the tradition, he seeks the limits of flamenco. Galván belongs to the new generation of flamenco artists who with much curiosity about the boundaries of the genre looking around, looking for new forms, and working towards a contemporary flamenco language.
