Orquesta Chekara (Spain)
The Orquesta Chekara is named after the classical Arabo-Andalus ensemble of the great master Chekara (1933-1998) from Tetuan. His heritage is continued by his nephew Jalal Chekara who creates music at a high level on the border between flamenco and Moroccan music. In 2008 he released the signature album La Chekara y el flamenco and four years later Tan cerca, tan lejos which also constituted a tribute to the legendary flamenco singer Enrique Morente.
