Tomeo Vergés / Cie Man Drake (France)
“Choreographer extraordinaire”, a reviewer called him. He was a professional swimmer and doctor before he started dancing: French-Catalan Tomeo Vergés' career is not what you'd call commonplace. Those who came to May B by Maguy Marin at Julidans 2015, have seen him as a dancer at work. In 1992 he founded his own company Man Drake and since then has been creating dance performances that lean heavily on the theatre of the absurd, showing the irrational aspects of life. He is regarded by many as one of today's leading dance makers and his work is shown throughout Europe.
