Chunky Move (Australia) - 247 Days
In March 2013, Anouk van Dijk premiered 247 Days, which headlined Australia’s Dance Massive Festival. 247 Days will be the first production of van Dijk’s that Chunky Move has toured to Europe.
Drawing on reflections of a stranger in a foreign land, 247 Days is van Dijk’s intimate exploration of human dynamics. An exposition of what we most passionately love, fear, desire and hate, 247 Days investigates how these divergent facets manage to coexist in all of us simultaneously.
Observing the individual within the social constructs of everyday life, van Dijk’s choreography, for six dancers, captures unguarded moments of delight, despair and ultimately, self-revelation. Stripping back the veneer of the human façade to reveal what ultimately lies below, 247 Days is a piercing examination of the human condition.
