Peeping Tom (Belgium) - A Louer / For Rent

Peeping Tom created a cinematic performance with virtuosic dance and surrealistic images.

A louer is a sinister dream world where dance, theatre, music (performed by artists such as mezzo soprano Euridike de Beul), and dark humour merge.

A Louer (For Rent) shows a world where nothing is sure. Everything you have is rented. Peeping Tom makes a journey through a parallel universe where our fears and dreams (or nightmares) become reality. A louer is like a walk past a steep cliff. Or like the look of a tightrope walker who feels in control one moment, and the next feels his grip slipping away.

The collective from Brussels took the Dutch public by storm with the trilogy Le jardin - Le salon and Le sous-sol. Last season they appeared in the Stadsschouwburg with 32, rue Vandenbranden. The NRC wrote,"32, rue Vandenbranden elicits shivers, astonishment, and compassion."

Marijcke saw the show in Amsterdam and loved every minute of it. And so did most of the audience: the applause was overwhelming.
