Compañia Rocío Molina (Spain) - Caída del Cielo

Rocío Molina (Málaga, 1984) has been dancing since she could walk. Following in the footsteps of flamenco innovator Israel Galván, she finds her way – headstrong and brazen – in flamenco. In this creation, which she made on commission from the prestigious Théâtre Chaillot in Paris, she uses great expressive power in extending the flamenco boundaries further. Razor-sharp and radical, first dancing a solo, then entering into virtuoso dialogue with her musicians, she hovers between tradition and experiment. In this diptych, the unique bailaora challenges herself by expressing the concept of ‘silence’ in flamenco terms.
