Muziektheater Transparant (Belgium) - Medea
The figure of Medea has appealed to the imagination since ancient times and continues to do so today. The enchantress Medea helps Jason and the Argonauts to capture the Golden Fleece. Jason and Medea are lovers. Together they travel to Greece but Jason abandons Medea for another woman for territorial and political reasons. Medea decides to kill their two sons.
The Dutch musical theatre ensemble the Veenfabriek and Muziektheater Transparant will be presenting a completely new and contemporary adaptation of this Greek tragedy by Peter Verhelst, set to music by Wim Henderickx.
Marijcke saw the show in Rotterdam and was really impressed by the music and the set, but the actors didn't convince her.
