Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio (Italy) - The Magic Flute
Pop, reggae, rock and jazz, but also the famous arias of the Queen of the Night (with top notes), Papageno and Pamina come by in this completely original version of Mozart's popular opera Die Zauberflöte.
The musicians and singers of the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio Italian group live in Rome, but are originally from countries such as Tunisia, Brazil, Cuba, Hungary, USA, Equador, Argentina and Senegal. The Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio plays ethnic music. Pretty much everything from fifteenth-century madrigals and contemporary music can be heard in this staged concert with video images.
The performance was shown at the Rotterdam Opera Days in 2010, and comes to the Netherlands again in the autumn of 2011.
