Nederlands Kamerkoor (Netherlands) - Under the Horizon
In Under the Horizon the dancers of Huang Yi Studio + are accompanied by the Nederlands Kamerkoor in a journey to the horizon. A horizon where, according to Chinese mythology, the afterlife begins. With breathtaking audiovisuals from Ryoichi Kurokawa (Japan), Yi creates a shadow world on the dividing line between life and death.
Yi: "As a child I became fascinated by shadows on the wall, I felt that I could see people from another world through those shadows, that I could take a look at the afterlife. I wondered: is there a way to to accompany the death through your shadow? "
With Under the Horizon, Yi gives a personal - poignantly current and personal - vision of the tragic love story of Orpheus and Eurydice. A performance in which modern dance and movement, live choir music and groundbreaking audiovisuals by the internationally acclaimed audiovisual artist Ryoichi Kurokawa (Japan) enter into a hallucinatory connection.
