Meher Debbich Awachri (Tunisia)
After a baccalaureate specialized in theater, the vocation of Meher Debbich Awachri (1984) appeared naturally: he will become an actor. In 2011, he leaves the Superior Institute of Dramatic Art of Tunis with his final studies project D-Sisyphe, which gave him immediate success, especially when the show got the 1st prize in the Thespis International Monodrama Festival in Kiel, Germany.
His career began in 1997 with amateur theater companies such as Al Zaytouna, Club de Theatre Universitaire, and Club de theatre Mohammadia. In 2001, he enters the professional field of acting as well as directing and writing of contemporary pieces, such as Farès et le manipulateur (2003), and Les Diables (2006). In 2008, he follows a three weeks training workshop with the famous Royal Shakespeare Company.
With D-Sisyphe (2012), all his abilities are combined: he is as well the playwright, actor as director. In 2013, he made an international duet dance show called Konn with Karolin Kent (Sweden), Malika Makouf Rasmussen (Norway/France/Algeria), and Ken Furudate (Japan).
